My name is David Harwood and I’m a sign painter born and raised here in Charlotte, NC. I have a passion for creating signs and designs for businesses to enhance curb appeal and add emphasis to what a business can offer for a community. A nicely designed and painted sign will bring in business for years to come. I am very adamant about keeping this sign painting tradition alive by using techniques that have been in the trade for over 100 years.

  1. Send detailed information about the placement of the sign, the material and/or surface being painted on or mounted to.

  2. Include a photo of the proposed location, as well as a general idea, design or reference of what you are wanting painted.

  3. Once I review your info, we can meet up at the location to discuss remaining details and a 50% deposit can be made.

  4. I will create initial sketches followed by up to two rounds of revisions. Any additional drafting time will be an additional charge. *A digital version of the finished art can also be supplied for an additional charge.

If necessary, areas such as glass or other smooth surfaces should be scraped so they are free of tint and any decals or residue.

  1. You should always clean glass with a microfiber towel and ammonia free glass cleaner.
  2. Please wait atleast 24 hours before using any cleaners or towels on the painted area.

For mounted or hanging signs, I use an exterior grade plywood called MDO (medium density overlay). It is sealed with exterior grade putty and high quality oil based enamel meant to withstand the test of time. *Unlike vinyl that cracks and peels
